The nesto Mortgage Rates API was developed for nesto Mortgage Experts to manage and store historical mortgage rate data from Canada’s largest lender. The goal was to build a reliable backend system that could feed internal tools and external integrations while keeping track of daily rate variations.
Built with Laravel (PHP), the API features an automated process for daily scraping to import rates using custom artisan commands and scheduled cron jobs.
The API includes custom endpoints with restricted access designed specifically for authorized partners to retrieve exclusive rate data. This data is also consumed by custom-built React widgets, like dynamic mortgage rate tables embedded into nesto and external clients websites.
